so I have 2 months left of a website

then for the first time in 7 years I will only have a ‘blog’.

7 years, at least I end on a good number.

This week has been alright… I guess my summer vacation will be this week and next week- then I start school again. Not too bad.

Miss Brandy, your package hasn’t arrived yet. Patience is the key, muhahahaha.

What else… each night I feel like going out and playing basketball or something but I end up doing something else, or nothing at all. I’ve been going to sleep early.. like between 10pm and 12pm, and anything past 1am I feel dead tired… its weird.

I like this song, but who sings it? Fits my current mood.. But if you know who sings it, let me know— please. I found it on someone’s xanga but they didn’t get back to me on who it was…

I spoke to Hyun Chul today, that was good.. I even got his digits. He’s a funny man…

Max doesn’t like Cingular.  Can you blame him?  The supposed third party that did the test for the least dropped calls was paid by Cingular.  Yeah.. they were real un-biased too.

Saturday night I hung out at Cascade with Jenise, and a few others for a little.  It was good to sit around — really doing nothing else except talking.

Then I went to church and heard a sermon on being Missional.  I want to connect with a church up here, get involved and help with missions.  I am much more … educated on the subject after working with Neil.

Speaking of Neil, I still may help out and do long-distance stuff for Central.

So that brings us to Sunday, I went to the beach.

I’m a beach person, and it was a nice day on the coast with tempatures peeking around 65-70.

I didn’t resize the resolution so it didn’t take a quality picture, but you get the idea.

First – please realize that I do my dead level best not to talk trash about people. Other than my parents. However I am falable. I am human and I sin. I don’t have any funky scripture to quote back. I just have common curtosey.

I had someone in my home for 2 months. They were only supposed to stay for 2 weeks. He stayed for 2 months and did not contribute anything to the household. He got free rent for two months. He got free utilities for two months. The only thing that i asked him to do was to do the dishes, lock the doors, and to pull the shower curtain closed all the way – after usage. He did not help dust, or vaccum, or mop. I had a maid service that would come in and do that. Alas – no help. But apparently I was such an evil roommate. I asked him what I had done wrong – and he would not tell me. So now – I have no way of knowing what it was that I had done wrong. I went into the hospital – and I did not even get a call from the person who was staying in my home for free – not even a getwell call. I did not expect a visit – I knew that he was working 2 jobs. I did not expect a present – I knew that he was saving up for college tuition. But not even a call. He would not even return my calls. I know that he received them – because I started cc’ing his mom’s # to all the text and voicemails. This way – she would let him know that I had been trying to contact him. I felt used and abused.

Now – out of humanity and sinning -I left a crude message on his xanga: “Yeah – being blocked really sucks doesn’t it. You are welcome for the 2 months of free rent and the month of free food. I am sorry I wasn’t that great of a friend to you. I called you and paged you and sent voicemails to you – with no response. I even apologized for anything wrong i did – some christian you are…maybe it’s a good thing you didn’t get to go to the college in UK – you wouldn’t have won anyone over to Christ anyways”.

I doubt it will be there for very long – he has a way of deleting comments that don’t suit him. Of course he doesn’t remember that in January – when his host kicked him out of his house – who was the one who took him in? Me. And then he came back this summer – who did he stay with – me. If he only stayed with me for 2 weeks – like he promised – and sought out another host family – I am pretty sure we would still be friends. However, he never even said thankyou for the roof over his head – or thankyou for the food. I wasn’t looking for a payback – I was just simply asking for a thankyou. When someone stays at another’s house for free -they say thankyou!

I admit – I even called his momma – but no good came of it. Just like any good parent – she supported him and did not even listen to my complaints. But please be aware – he sucks as a person. If you do not check in with him and let him know what’s going on in your life – then you don’t want to be friends with him. Nevermind the fact that I had a life before he came to live with me – working at CCC, working at UOP, working at Younglife, going to school. I could go on – but I digress – and many of you might say “boy is Lori really way out of line” but that is your own thought – if you chose not to hang out with me after this blog – then maybe you weren’t really my friend to begin with.

Seriously? You have some problems.. well more than some. It is hard to imagine that I spent about 2 months with in your house, that’s right– lets make it public… the way you want it to be.. You really want to go here? You really want me to bring it out? No you don’t. It will leave you ashamed, probably more confused and frustrated than you claim to be.

If I really knew it was supposed to be for two weeks… then I would have been gone.

I cleaned the apartment, constantly.. and constantly you made it a mess, you made it a Pigsty.

I also paid for all of my food, another reason that I was constantly low in money, when you knew I was getting paid min. wage ($5.15/hr) from the church.

Thank you for leaving the house for a week on end and not letting me know by phone or text if you are okay. Thank you for the lies to my face, saying that you’ve called and texted me. Thank you revealing your true self so that I am fully aware.

Who was there for me in Dec/Jan? You, and can you wear two faces? You did, you proved that to me many times this summer.

Maybe it’s me? Lol, I’m sorry.. if I did a roommates laundry.. I am pretty sure they wouldn’t condescendingly talk down to me and tell me to never touch their things again. I am sure that if I left a dish or two in the sink (so I could do a full load in the dishwasher) that I wouldn’t be lectured to clean the dishes after every single dish is dirty.

I am sure of it. I’ve kept in contact with many people, and many are aware of the very odd way you demand these things yet can’t even keep a clean apartment yourself.

The funniest thing looking back on all of this…the whole ordeal was that at the beginning of the summer, Lori said she wanted to be a ‘blessing’ to me, (after she heard a church sermon) she called me and said how she would get things I wanted, blah blah blah help me in any way.

Like most people who are Fantastic regular attenders to church…. it goes in one ear… stays for a few seconds (enough to say this to me) and then out the other.

Another update,

I’ve been at this xanga thing for a few years, its crazy when I look back at all the times I’ve updated it.

So.. everyone knew (or should have known) that I wasn’t going to Redcliffe because I didn’t get sponsored enough from Central. So… I am going to be returning to Cascade.

Yeah, it is official. I have let them know and I’ve worked out my schedule for another year. It probably won’t be the easiest year, with me taking both Greek and Math… so fun times are ahead.

I’m going to live at home— for a few reasons, but it should be best this way all the way around.

At the rate it is going I won’t graduate for another year or so… fun times indeed.

I been single for over a year…. I have successfully avoided getting with anyone whom I wasn’t 100% sure on and also haven’t had any regrets (as far as that is concerned). I have overall been pretty good about keeping things at a distance. *then a shadow comes over me and I state:* Another year of Cascade is nearing.

Not so sure it will work out the same way this year… not sure either way. I was having a conversation with a friend the other day online.. with Meghan (from Arizona) about how the last relationship I was in was last year around this time.. and before that… was in 2003. Crazy stuff…

Speaking of that, besides verbally talking to Verizon I haven’t talked to anyone on the phone since Monday. Only communication from me has came through text messaging…

My brothers court date has now been pushed back into October.

Blockage…

Who’s being called out?

Call out of the night: Lori is blocked from my site. Yeah, I don’t want to have to deal with her drama anymore, nor do I want her bringing any more un wanted drama in my life.

I have done as much as I can and with her there is no winning, unless you lose. haha.. ironic.

Best of Luck to her in all that she does…. and I’ll leave it at that.

I’m in Portland… last night was my first night home.

The second night I ended up staying in .. where… oh in La Grande, Oregon after driving through Boise ID. It’s pretty much….. boring. Nothing to do and it was like 90 in that area.

It is nice to be home, and the tempatures here are so nice…. did I mention I love the weather?

You step outside and you don’t loose your breath because of the heat. You step in your car and don’t get a 3rd degree burn from the metal of the seatbelt…. Ah yes. It’s good to be back.

I got a bike tonight, so I will be able to go riding. I want to start doing lots of biking. It is a mountain bike so I will be able to use it in lots of places here in Oregon and Washington. Oregon apparently is the most bike friendly city in the country.

My brothers court date has been pushed back, so it is not on the 10th like originally planned.

I’ve gotten to talk to Billie Jo on the way back, that’s always good. Even to Leah a little, she kept disconnecting calls though P

In 43 minutes it will be Katie Lynn Archambault’s birthday. Happy Birthday to her. She is awesome.

I see God leading me to places I thought I was finished with, it should prove to be … well a great experience (like always). Again, I pray the dangerous prayer—for God’s will to be done and for me to be stretched to the limit. Again you ask? Of course!

Random fact of the night: Did you know that they have JOLT gum? 2 pieces are equivalent to a cup of coffee.

Only other news is that I have already been offered a job in the Portland area.

So I’m still alive… just busy.

This morning I left Mesa at 6:30ish and left the keys with Brandy so Lori wouldn’t worry her little face off about getting the keys back.

Then I drove to Flagstaff, topped off my gas again… and continued on my way.

It wasn’t the most entertaining thing to look at….

Today

Hours Spent Driving: 12 to 14 hours, of those… 2 hours spent in the same place trying to find my way.

The whole day I’ve been looking at my phone thinking it was wrong.  As soon as I entered into Utah the time changed 1 hour…. so that threw everything off.

Times at the Gas Station: Mesa, Flag, Some Small city, and SLC – 4 times.

Pictures taken: About 25

Miles traveled : 700+

Lowest constant MPH: 25

Highest constant MPH: 100

Number of times the phone died: Once

Number of times there was no service: 5 or 6 (really unexpected, but it was in the Indian Reservations)

Many people asked for directions before a way was found: 20+

Phone Calls Made/Received: 30+

Text Messages Made/Received: 30+

Heard thunder: Once

Got rain when it wasn’t expected: Tonight.

Ah yes, the official Utah welcoming sign, another state I’ve now visited.

The Delta Center – Yes, I had to take a picture of it.  I like seeing all the NBA arena’s for each market.  (Utah Jazz, the NBA)

And this.. is the famous site of the 2002 Olympics.  It was much smaller than I thought it would be.

So I got lost going back to my hotel room.  Didn’t get lost the whole day, but leave my hotel room to go take these pics (shown) and I get lost.  Not just a little, but like 2 or 3 hours worth.  It was driving me crazy.  It reeeeaaallly was.

This is the last picture that I’ll put up.  You can start to see the storms move in, and sure enough it rained.

Salt Lake City is a really nice city… it wasn’t anything like I had expected.  It’s very green, and lots of people outside a lot of the time.  The whole city kinda comes off of a few surrounding mountains.  I like it here, it is nice.

I’m tired, I have Burger King I bought at 6pm, and now its 11:50, technically almost 1am Utah time.. and I still need to go eat it.  So, that’s your update…. deal with it.

More news…

Central came back with my scholarship that I was awarded.

Great news!

Double of what I was given last year.

I thought that was very good news.

Now for the bad news.

It was double of what I had last year, and less than half of what I needed this year to attend Redcliffe.

The door has been shut, and I am left frustrated. I am left to wonder why I came out to Arizona this summer. I really don’t know. For the internship so I could get a better grip on missions, but look how it has turned out. Now this? Is this something I should look at and say ’something bigger will come up’ or maybe look at this and say ’should I continue to pursue missions?’ — I am at a loss for words.

I am left confused.

Yes, we all have set backs.. but I don’t consider this a ’set back’, I consider it something else– an unwanted blessing of some sort.

My last day in Arizona will be this Saturday. Then I depart for Oregon… I will have broke even this week (in my finances) and hopefully the trip back up will keep me at broke and not in debt.

Why so soon? My brother is having his court date on the 10th of August (the big court date… the one that decides who gets the kids and all that jazz) … and I want to be there.

The good news is that whatever college I choose to attend I can use that scholarship for. But, Redcliffe is out of the picture. I asked for an answer— and I got it.
